Awareness Lecture on Waterborne Diseases:
Assam Rifles conducted an impactful Awareness Lecture on waterborne diseases at Zou Khunou, Churachandpur District, Manipur, on 03rd January 2024. The event aimed to promote a healthy, disease-free, and progressive society, witnessing active participation from villagers, including youth and children. Focusing on the prevention of waterborne diseases, the lecture emphasized the importance of simple precautionary measures. With over 95% of waterborne diseases being preventable, the event sought to educate women and children on various facets, types, and preventive measures. Sixteen individuals actively participated in the lecture, highlighting the community’s commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
Medical Aid to Facial Burn Victim:
Assam Rifles demonstrated a commitment to saving lives by providing life-saving medical assistance to Master Afif, a 1-year-old facial burn victim from Kwakta village, Bishnupur district, Manipur, on 03rd January 2024. After a hot tea spillage incident, the child was rushed to the Unit hospital of 9 Assam Rifles, where immediate essential medical care stabilized his condition. The parents expressed gratitude for the timely assistance that saved their child’s life.
Phaikoh and Shankalok Refugee Camps, Kamjong District, Medical Camp:
In a continued effort to foster mutual trust and peaceful relations, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), organized a Medical Camp at Phaikoh and Shankalok Refugee camps, Kamjong district, Manipur, on 03rd January 2024. The camp addressed the medical needs of underprivileged refugees from the border villages of Myanmar, providing thorough check-ups and necessary medical assistance to 32 female refugees, including 12 pregnant women and 08 infants. Beyond medical aid, detailed guidance on daily precautions and routines essential for a healthy environment in the refugee camp was also provided.
