The 2nd Assam Samabay Mela 2024 was organised by the Cooperation Department, Assam at ganesh mandir, indoor stadium, Khanapara.
It was a 3 days programme starting from 9th January to 11th January 2024. More than 100 Cooperative societies from all over Assam participated in this mela.
There were a lot of handloom, handicraft items products conceived and made by the cooperative societies were made and displayed. There were a lot of programmes in this cooperative mela and the mela was inaugurated by the Minister of Cooperation, Nandita Gorlosa along with other dignitaries from the Cooperation department itself. In this mela, there were a lot of competitions most importantly pitch fest competition among the colleges of Assam, where cooperative societies run by the college students made their proposal in front of the judges and tried for financial assistance. Along with that there are cultural programmes most notably by Achurjo Borapatra, Tezpur, as well as quiz, dihanam, art competitions were also held in the programme.
This mela was organised to make a harmony among the cooperative societies and give them a platform to display their works. Not only from Assam, Coopetative Societies from Gujarat, Sikkim and Nagaland also participated in this mela.
