ASSAM RIFLES UNDER OP SADBHAVANA PROJECT DISTRIBUTED SOLAR LIGHTS TO RESIDENTS OF URIPOK, IMPHAL WEST & STATIONERY ITEMS TO STUDENTS IN CHURACHANDPUR

Assam Rifles, under HQ IGAR (South) as part of the Op Sadbhavana Project 2023-24, embarked on an initiative of distributing solar lights to residents of Uripok in Imphal West District, Manipur. This significant step reflects the organization’s commitment to sustainable energy practices and the overall welfare of the community.

Under the “City for Every Locality” program, Assam Rifles aims to illuminate the lives of the people in Uripok by providing solar lights, contributing to a brighter and more sustainable future. This distribution aligns with the organization’s dedication to positive community engagement and fostering sustainable practices.

The event took place on 05 Feb 2024 at Uripok, Imphal West wherein the representatives from Assam Rifles presented the solar lights to the recipients, symbolizing the organization’s steadfast support for the well-being and progress of the local community.

In a similar vein, Assam Rifles distributed essential stationery items to internally displaced children at the Hmar Youth Association Office in Churachandpur District, Manipur, on 03 February 2024.

This initiative aimed to highlight the compassionate approach of Assam Rifles, extending beyond their combat role. The crucial needs of the internally displaced children were identified and promptly addressed. Among the affected, a significant portion comprises young children residing in relief camps, deprived of regular schooling. This event not only fulfilled their immediate requirements but also brought smiles to the innocent faces of these children, reflecting Assam Rifles’ commitment to their well-being.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WREATH LAYING CEREMONY FOR BRAVEHEART AT MANTRIPUKHRI

Assam Rifles under the aegis Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a wreath laying ceremony for Rfn (Late) PP Thapa who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. Rifleman(Late) PP Thapa sustained a fatal bullet injury during face off with insurgents near village Panggai in Manipur on 05 Feb 1960 during ROP duties.

Assam Rifles honoured the braveheart by paying homage at War Memorial to their supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation disregarding personal safety.

The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying and a motivational speech was delivered to all ranks narrating the story of the braveheart in the service of nation.

Two Officers, 15 Junior Commissioned Officers and 43 Other Ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying wreaths & according Guard of Honour.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED A MEDICAL AID CAMP AND EMERGENCY TREATMENT AT CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquaters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted a Medical Aid Camp at Village Beheng, Churachandpur district of Manipur on 05 Feb 2024.

A total of 24 villagers including 12 men, eight women and four children were benefitted from the said camp.

At S Kholen village, Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles provided emergency medical assistance to a 17 year old boy who sustained injury while farming and was brought to Assam Rifles Unit Hospital by the villagers. Timely assistance was provided by Medical team of Assam Rifles by controlling the heavy bleeding and the individual after stabilization was referred to District Hospital, Churachandpur for further treatment.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS SECURITY MEETING AT AIBOL JOUPI, CHANDEL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR(S) conducted a Security Meeting at Aibol Joupi, Chandel District, Manipur on 04 Feb 2024 where a total of 25 locals, including the Chairman, Secretary, and Youth attended the meeting.

The aim of the security meeting was to discuss and update about the prevailing security situation in the area. Sharing of information for any untoward incidents, coordination and convergence on the issues of mutual interest between Security Forces and Public were deliberately discussed during the conduct of the meeting.

Attendees were also informed about likely security threats in the region and also about the relentless efforts of the Assam Rifles to maintain peace and harmony in the area. During the meeting, the locals were also updated and informed about the various job opportunities and recruitment in the Armed Forces, and various MCA project undertaken in the area. The locals appreciated the gesture of Assam Rifles apart from expressing their willingness to maintain close liaison with the Security Forces.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED LECTURE ON HYGIENE AND SANITATON AT HENGKOTVI CHURACHANDPUR  (MANIPUR)

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquaters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted lecture on hygiene and sanitation at Hengkot village of Churachandpur district, Manipur on 05 February 2024.

An informative lecture was conducted at Hengkot village by Assam Rifles, aimed to promote healthy and disease free environment and to create awareness about various illnesses resulting from carelessness in maintaining hygiene and sanitation. The locals were also made aware about various water borne diseases and the preventive measures for the same. The importantance of neat and clean surroundings and personal hygiene and sanitation was emphasized during the awareness drive. A total of 20 villagers participated in the event.
