ASSAM DISTRIBUTES WATER SUPPLY ITEMS & RELIEF MATERIALS PACKAGES IN CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR UNDER OPERATION SADBHAVANA

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South), took proactive steps to alleviate the water crisis plaguing Larong Khunou village in Chandel District. Situated on a hill feature straddling the boundary of Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts, the isolated village had long grappled with a perpetual water shortage, relying on water purchases from bowsers.

As part of Operation Sadbhavna, Assam Rifles initiated the distribution of essential water supply items to Larong Khunou. The distribution encompassed crucial supplies such as GI pipes, pump sets, and Syntex tanks, aimed at addressing the community’s pressing water needs. These items facilitated the extraction of water from the nearest spring to the village, providing a sustainable solution to the water scarcity issue.

The villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for their noble service and unwavering support in ensuring access to clean and reliable water sources. Simultaneously at Haika & S Lhangnom villages, Chandel District (Manipur), Assam Rifles distributed Relief Material Packages comprising of clothing, toiletries and hygiene items to villagers of under Operation Sadbhavna.

This distribution signifies a significant yet modest step towards providing essential livelihood amenities to the villagers, aiding them in meeting their daily needs. Assam Rifles reaffirms its commitment to fostering positive changes and contributing to the well-being of communities in its area of responsibility, even amidst challenging circumstances. The villagers and local authorities expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for its initiative in enhancing the socio-economic fabric of the village, acknowledging the positive impact of the assistance provided.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED A PRE RECRUITMENT TRAINING UNDER ARCAP

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) conducted a pre recruitment training with effect from 16 December 2023 to 06 January 2024 at Battalion Headquarter (New KLP), Moreh (Manipur) under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (AR CAP) project for the financial year 2023-24.

In order to give a head start to aspiring local youths of Moreh town aspiring to join prestigious armed forces and serve nation, a pre recruitment rally was organised by the Assam Rifles. A total of 20 enthusiastic aspirants went through the training capsule for two months at New KLP location, where they were put through intense physical training routine, theory classes and mock tests. Periodic medical checkup and practice for written examinations were also included as part of the training.

The Pre recruitment training concluded on 06 February 2024 with the Commandant addressing the young candidates on their successful completion of training and handing over participation certificate for the same. Tracksuit, shoes and reading materials have been distributed to all aspirants followed by refreshments. All the aspirants appreciated the gesture of Assam Rifles and conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the generous assistance.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES MOTIVATIONAL LECTURE ON “FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS” AT CHANGPOL VILLAGE, CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles, under the auspices of HQ IGAR (South), engaged in a series of community initiatives aimed at fostering harmony and well-being in Chandel District. On 05 February 2024, a compelling lecture titled “Combatting Drug Abuse” was organized at Changpol Village near the Indo-Myanmar Border. The session, held at Changpol Village Community Hall, drew around 100-110 villagers who were enlightened about the dangers of drug abuse and encouraged to embrace healthier lifestyles, particularly through active participation in sports. This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ unwavering commitment to empowering local youth and promoting community welfare.

In a parallel effort on 06 February 2024, Assam Rifles facilitated a friendly interaction with village authorities of Molkon Village and Khengjoi Village, also situated near the Indo-Myanmar Border. This informal gathering provided a platform for open dialogue on security concerns and community issues faced by the villages. Assam Rifles assured the village authorities of its full support in resolving these challenges, demonstrating its dedication to fostering cooperation and understanding between Security Forces and the local populace. The proactive engagement received appreciation from both village authorities and residents, highlighting the significance of such interactions in strengthening community partnerships for peace and stability.
