Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) organised the Ex-Servicemen Wife’s Welfare Association anniversary and Silver Jubilee celebrations on 13th February at Ukhrul District with an attendance of over 200 Ex-Servicemen & their wives.
The association was formed in the year 1999 as a forum to address the problems of Ex-Servicemen wives. In its 25 years of existence, the association has been instrumental in projecting and resolving the issues raised by its members. The event was inaugurated by DIG, HQ Assam Rifles in the presence of Guest of Honour, Smt Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, DC Ukhrul. The event gave an insight of the initiatives undertaken by the association over a span of 25 years in Ukhrul.
As part of the event, a souvenir booklet was unveiled by DIG, HQ Assam Rifles which documented the journey of the association since its inception. Assam Rifles vowed to extend their aid and support in the future to the association and wished them success in years to come.
