On 13 February , the inauguration of Project Madat, a Women Empowerment Initiative, took place at Kshetri Leikai Tomjing Makhong, Thoubal. This project, spearheaded by Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), aims to empower women by providing them with four Power loom Machines and necessary administrative support to establish a center for producing high-quality clothing and pursue viable vocations.
The Powerloom machines were entrusted to M/s Chingkheingamba Creationz, which offers employment opportunities to underprivileged groups, including widows, transgender individuals, and other marginalized families. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Ahanthem Subash Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, and V Abdus Salam, Adviser of Anjuman Eslahi & United Meitei Pangal Committee (UNPC).
Local women expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for this initiative, which provides them with a platform for self-reliance and better future.
