Phaisanjang village, situated at the Indo-Myanmar border in Chandel District, had been grappling with a severe shortage of potable water for drinking purposes. With limited access to clean drinking water, the villagers have had to contend with the arduous task of sourcing water from distant locations, often spending precious time and energy on this essential but elusive resource. The lack of adequate water supply has not only affected their health but also hindered their ability to carry out daily chores and activities. Additionally, the absence of clean drinking water poses a serious risk of waterborne diseases, further exacerbating the villagers’ plight.
In the face of these difficulties, the establishment and handover of an RO Water Plant at Phaisanjang village in Chandel District, Manipur, took place on 21 February 2024, as part of the Assam Rifles OP SADHBHAVNA Program for the year 2023-24.
This endeavor underscores a commitment to fostering positive changes and represents a crucial step towards alleviating the hardships faced by the villager. Despite facing challenges, the initiative seeks to strengthen the relationship between security forces and the native populace of Manipur.
