Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to present the entire nation with 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains that will be flagged-off across the country, through video conferencing. The flagging off also includes the new Vande Bharat express train between New Jalpaiguri and Patna. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple railway projects worth more than Rs 85,000 cr. The New Jalpaiguri-Patna-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express will thus benefit the people of both the states of West Bengal & Bihar including its adjacent areas. Hence, the new Vande Bharat trains are considered as a step forward towards accomplishing Prime Minister’s vision of improving connectivity across the country and providing world class facilities to the railway passengers.
Prime Minister will flag off the inaugural service of the new Vande Bharat Express from New Jalpaiguri to Patna on 12th March, 2024, through video-conferencing. The train No. 02233 (New Jalpaiguri –Patna) Vande Bharat Express will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 09:00 hours to reach its destination at Patna Jn. at 17:30 hours during the inaugural run.
The regular service of New Jalpaiguri– Patna– New Jalpaiguri (22233/22234) will start from 14th March, 2024, i.e. on Thursday from both ends. Train no. 22233 (New Jalpaiguri- Patna) Vande Bharat Express will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 05:15 hours and will reach Patna Jn. at 12:10 hours, same day. In its return journey, the train no. 22234 (Patna- New Jalpaiguri) Vande Bharat Express will depart from Patna Jn. at 13:00 hours to reach at its destination of New Jalpaiguri at 20:00 hours, same day. The trains will run six days a week via Kishanganj & Katihar, from both ends to reach at its destination. Both the trains will reach its destination at approximately seven hours, covering almost a distance of 471 kms, on either side. The composition of the train will be of 08 coaches with seating capacity of 530 numbers. There will be one Executive Class, five Chair Car and two Driver Trail Coaches. The fare for the train journey between New Jalpaiguri – Patna Jn. will be Rs. 2080 for Executive Class and Rs.1040 for Chair Car excluding catering charges whereas the fare will be Rs. 2250 & Rs.1180 inclusive of catering charges respectively.
With the arriving of the State of the art Vande Bharat Express between Bihar & North Bengal, people of both the states, in particular, will be able to experience travelling by express rail with enhanced speed and comfort.
