On 21 March 2024, following a report from Territorial Army regarding a suspicious bag south of Saigon Village, Tengnoupal District, a joint team comprising Assam Rifles along with Territorial Army was deployed for search operations.
During the search, the team discovered an unidentified bag concealed along a culvert, containing 02 x Improvised Explosive Devices wrapped with cordex. Following the initial recovery, the area was sanitized to ensure public safety.
The recovered IEDs/WLS will undergo demolition by a Bomb Disposal team in the presence of a police representative.
Additionally, all other items will be handed over to the Tengnoupal police station for further legal proceedings.
