Nehru Yuva Kendra Pasighat successfully organised the Neighbourhood Youth Parliament of Esat Siang district at the Auditorium of the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Pasighat, on the 22nd of March 2024.
This program aims to create an institutional platform at various levels, where youth can articulate their views on various issues and draw the attention of the local administration to such issues/concerns affecting their lives by providing them first-hand exposure to engaging in dialogue with fellow youth within the framework of parliamentary procedures through a mock parliament program.
The prestigious occasion was graced by the presence of Tapnag Taki Principal, DIET Pasighat as Chief Guest along with several other esteemed faculties of the institute.
Addressing the gathering in his inaugural speech, Tapnag Taki, the event’s Chief Guest, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the youth to be actively involved in this kind of program to develop leadership qualities to enable themselves to realize their full potential to contribute to the nation-building process.
The District Youth officer (DYO) of Nehru Yuva Kendra Pasighat in his session explained about the MYBharat portal and how it will benefit the youth if they register themselves as a youth on the portal. He also urged the participants to be peer advocates to support our local products by following the motto of our government i.e., “Vocal for Local”. All the participants of the Mock parliament were in traditional attire to promote the same which was highly applaudable.
In the program, a Mock Parliament was also conducted on the topic of Drug Abuse as per the implementation guidelines of the program. After the conclusion of the mock parliament, an interactive quiz was also conducted for the audience with a small token gift. The participants of the mock parliament program were felicitated with certificates. The best performer of the mock parliament program was presented with a token gift and memento by the program organizer.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Pasighat expressed its gratitude to all the esteemed guests, participants, and supporters for their valuable contribution towards the success of the Neighbourhood Youth Parliament 2024 of East Siang District. The organization remains committed to nurturing the full potential of the youth and empowering them to become responsible citizens dedicated to the progress of our great nation.
