On 26 April 2024, in a swift response to rehabilitate the IDPs affected by the severe storm in Manipur, Assam Rifles as a true Friend of North East people and committed for the welfare of local communities, organized a medical camp for the inhabitants and distributed relief material at the Yambem relief camp located at Yaripok in Thoubal district of Manipur.
Upon receiving information about the severe impact of the storm Assam Rifles rushed a team to affected area. The team interacted with the locals and assesed their requirements.
A medical camp was organized which incorporated two doctors and 20 medical staff provided medical assistance alongwith medicines. Also essentials to include Mattresses and Bedsheets were distributed. A total of 240 persons including 87 Women, 91 children and 62 men were benefitted.
Local populace expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for their swift response and the assistance for the relief camp.
