Lieutenant General R C Tiwari, Army Commander Eastern Command, on a two day visit to Mizoram called on the Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and the Chief Minister Lalduhoma.
The Army Commander held discussions on the prevailing security situation in the border areas and the crucial role being played by the Assam Rifles in ensuring safety and security along the India Myanmar Border.
The Governor and Chief Minister appreciated the role of the Assam Rifles deployed in Mizoram including their outreach to the populace of the state.
Lieutenant General R C Tiwari, Army Commander Eastern Command also interacted with the Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh and discussed aspects related to current security situation and measures being undertaken for maintaining peace and stability in Manipur.
