Assam Rifles in run up to World Environment Day, in collaboration with local civilians, organized a significant tree-planting event at Joupi Vill to celebrate world environment day. This initiative aimed to promote environmental conservation and enhance green cover in these remote regions. Assam Rifles personnel and villagers came together to plant a diverse range of saplings, symbolizing their commitment to a sustainable future.
The event was marked by a sense of unity and shared responsibility, as participants took a pledge to protect and nurture the environment.
A total of 2500 Saplings has been planted during the programme with the help of 150 locals which included 50 children from the villages as well as troops of Assam Rifles.
This event is a testimony for ongoing environmental efforts in the border villages.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED INTERNATIONAL DAY OF INNOCENT CHILDREN VICTIMS OF AGGRESSION IN MANIPUR
Assam Rifles observed International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression at Sehlon village in Chandel district, Manipur on 04 Jun 2024, the initiative aimed to honor and support the children affected by conflicts, reaffirming Assam Rifles’ commitment for fostering peace and resilience in the community.
The event, brought together representatives from Assam Rifles and local community leaders. Together, they paid tribute to the courage and resilience of children who have endured the harrowing consequences of aggression and conflict. Assam Rifles, emphasized the organization’s unwavering dedication in safeguarding the well- being of vulnerable populations, especially children affected by violence.
The program included various activities designed to engage and uplift the spirits of the children, including a motivational lecture and interactive sessions with the children.A total of 42 children and parents of Sehlon village were present during the event.
The event underscored the importance of collective actions and solidarity in addressing the plight of victim children in conflict affected areas. Assam Rifles reaffirmed its pledge to work in close collaboration with local communities, thereby gaining their trust & confidence.
ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES FIRST AID KIT IN VILLAGES IN CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Assam Rifles distributed first aid kit at Old Samtal, Phoilen and Tuitong villages on 04 Jun 2024. The initiative aims to provide immediate medical aid during emergency in the remote region.
With healthcare infrastructure often limited in the area along the villages along Indo-Myanmar border, Assam Rifles took proactive steps to address the medical needs of the villagers. The initiative offered a wide array of services including essential medical supplies, bandages, antiseptics, pain relievers, and other items necessary for basic medical care. Assam Rifles, emphasized the importance of such initiative in fostering goodwill and trust between the security forces and the local populace. Its aim to empower the residents of the local community with the knowledge and enhance self sufficiency, promote health literacy, foster community resilience, and ultimately improve the overall well being the community members.
Approximately 200 villagers have benefitted and the efforts of Assam Rifles in the difficult time has been appreciated by the village authorities.
ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS & ASSISTANCE TO AFFECTED PEOPLE BY CYCLONE REMAL IN CHAKPIKARONG AREA, CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR
Assam Rifles distributed relief material & provided assistance to villagers affected by Cyclone Remal in Chakpikarong, Chandel District, Manipur on 04 Jun 2024.
Due to the effect of Cyclone Remal, Chakpikarong area received incessant rainfall from 27 May to 29 May 2024 resulting in flooding of low lying areas and increase in water levels of Chakpki river & also damaging few temporary houses.
Assam Rifles carried out distribution of relief materials including daily use items to the affected people and also assisted in reconstruction of damaged houses & habitats.
During the initiative by Assam rifles, basic essential items like rice, pulse and flour is distributed to 20 families in the area of Sajik Tampak.
Assam Rifles remains committed in fostering positive changes and contributing to the well-being of the communities in the area of responsibility, in order to strengthen the relationship between security forces and the locals even during these challenging times.
