Riyan Parag, the 22-year-old cricketer from Assam, has created history by becoming the first male cricketer from Northeast India to debut for the Indian Senior team.
Parag made his T20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on July 6, 2024.
Parag, who captains Assam in domestic cricket and plays for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, was part of India’s 2018 U-19 World Cup winning squad. He impressed with his performances in the 2017 India U-19 tour of England, scoring three fifties in four innings.
Meanwhile India won the toss and decided to bowl first.
