After Heavy rain lashed Guwahati on Monday

Heavy rain lashed Guwahati, on Monday leading to severe waterlogging in several areas of the city and disrupting normal life.

The Kamrup Metropolitan administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions within the Guwahati Municipal Corporation area on Tuesday due to the inclement weather and flash floods.

Waterlogging was reported from various parts of the city, including  Jorabhat , Zoo Road, RG Baruah Road, GS Road, Nabin Nagar, Anil Nagar, Hatigaon, Ganeshguri Lal Ganesh, Odalbakra and others places of city Guwahati.

Rukminigaon is one of the worst-affected localities of the city in the urban flooding that took place on Monday.

The Meteorological Department on Monday issued an orange alert for Assam and Meghalaya from Monday to Saturday.

Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah criticised the BJP government in the state for failing to prevent flooding in the city Guwahati.

The flooding has disrupted normal life, with overflowing sewage water entering many houses and damaging valuables.
