The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N. F. Railway is regularly conducting drives to control the menace of touts. In recently conducted checks and drives over the zone from 17th to 31st July, 2024, RPF apprehended 11 touts and recovered 64 railway tickets worth above Rs. 2.85 lacs from them.
In an incident on 17th July, 2024, RPF and CIB team of Alipurduar Jn jointly conducted a raid & search operation at PRS counter of Dhupguri. During the raid the team recovered 14 tickets, worth around Rs. 89,587/- and apprehended one tout in this connection. A case was registered under section 143 of the Railways Act at Jalpaiguri Road for further course of action.
During various raids and checks at stations and trains over N. F. Railway 148 touts were arrested and total 1100 tickets worth around Rs. 29.38 lacs were recovered by RPF of N. F. Railway this year till 31st July, 2024.
Apart from keeping a close vigil of unauthorized & illegal procurement of railway tickets, RPF of N. F. Railway always ready to provide services and assistance to the rail users besides their task of ensuring security to the passengers. N. F. Railway authority would like to request all passengers to undertake their journey with proper tickets only to avoid problems during train travel.
