Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) had earlier distributed the National Flag ‘Tiranga’ across Manipur and organized various events to promote the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyaan’. On 15th August 24, Assam Rifles joined hands with local communities in celebrating the 78th Independence Day across Manipur imbibing the slogan ‘United under Tiranga’. The celebrations emphasized the connection between local communities and the Assam Rifles, uniting the villagers, youth and the children alongwith Assam Rifles personnel in a collective tribute to the nation.
As part of the celebrations, at ARPS, Mantripukhri in Imphal West District, flag hoisting was carried out and a Run for Tiranga was organized wherein the school children took part enthusiastically. The young children saluting the national flag on the occasion was a sight to behold. Also, Flag hoisting ceremonies were held at Pantilong, Naga Ching, Khabam and Lamkai villages of Imphal East District and Chandrakhong in Thoubal District.
At Komlakhong in Imphal West District Assam Rifles celebrated Independence Day at the Moral Guidance School, where students participated in the flag hoisting ceremony. The event featured enthusiastic performances by schoolchildren singing patriotic songs, enhancing the festive spirit.
In KPI District the Tiranga Run at Janglenphei village united children and villagers in a joyous celebration of the national flag. The flag hoisting ceremony filled the air with patriotic fervor, as the Tricolour fluttered high. Sweets for children and refreshments for all participants added to the festive atmosphere, promoting unity and pride.
Similarly, in Longa Koirang of KPI district the flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Community Hall, where local residents gathered to pay their respects to the national flag. Assam Rifles distributed flags to the villagers, encouraging them to display the Tricolour with pride in their homes, thereby reinforcing the “Har Ghar Tiranga” message.
At Bungte Chiru High School of KPI DIstrict, the celebrations were equally vibrant, with a cultural program organized by the students. The event included a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the distribution of sweets, creating a joyous environment that resonated with the spirit of independence. A similar event was held at Haibung village (KPI District) where the entire community came together to honor the day. Similarly, at Oinam village of Bishnupur District Assam Rifles organized flag hoisting at Brighter English School and sweets were distributed to the children, adding to the celebratory mood.
In Ukhrul District, Flag hosting ceremonies were organized by Assam Rifles at ARPS, Ukhrul and Shakpao, Tolloi, Tusom and Somsai villages of Ukhrul District which saw a large number of villagers in attendance. This was followed by singing of the National Anthem. The event concluded with the distribution of refreshments and sweets to the attendees.
In Kamjong District Flag hosting ceremony was organized by Assam Rifles at Kasong, Sorde, Phaikoh, Nampisha and Kamtong villages. Prior to this flags were distributed to the villagers from 13 – 14 August 2024 as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The event brought out the camaraderie between the Assam Rifles and the local communities as they joined hands in singing the national anthem. Thereafter sweets were distributed to all to add joy to the occasion.
In CCPur District, Assam Rifles (South) organized Independence Day celebrations at Singhat, Gothal, Langza and Torbung Bangla villages. The celebrations were aimed for Independence Day 2024 theme “Viksit Bharat”. The events also saw participation from children of local schools. The participants were educated to spread the mission to their family and friends regarding the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. Flag hosting ceremonies alongwith singing of the National anthem were organized as part of the events. A march past by students of Hill Model High School, Singhat was the highlight on the occasion.
In Tengnoupal District the celebrations were organized at Machi Government High School (Machi village), Bawndaam Friendship School (Khoibu Centre), and the villages of Bongmol, SL Zougam, and Tonglhang. Vibrant tribal dance performances and singing of the National Anthem marked the events, fostering a deep sense of national pride.
In Chandel District a grand Band Display by the Assam Rifles Pipe Band at Maha Union High School, Chandel was organized which was attended by around 2000 locals. Flag hoisting ceremonies also took place at Modi and Pallel villages. Further, a friendly volleyball match was organized at B Bongjang village to mark the occasion and concluded with sweets and refreshments distributed to attendees.
Also in Chandel District to mark the Independence Day a range of activities, including a drawing and painting competition, Patriotic movie screening and a march past by students from three local schools was organized at Aibol Joupi and Sehlon villages. Additionally, a patriotic movie screening was held for students at New Samtal and Yangnomphai.
The above inclusive events across the state as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the Independence Day celebrations showcased Assam Rifles dedication to strengthening the patriotic spirit among the communities, reinforcing the values of unity, diversity, and national pride emboldening the spirit of ‘United under the Tiranga’.
ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES ESSENTIAL MATERIALS TO PREACH HERITAGE ORPHANAGE AT CHAKPIKARONG ON THE OCCASION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY
Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in continuation of its ongoing efforts to address the needs and concerns of the locals, distributed relief materials to Preach Heritage Orphanage at Chakpikarong, Chandel district (Manipur) on the occasion of 78th Independence Day on 15 August 2024.
The relief operations were organised by Assam Rifles & was focused on distributing essential relief materials to the orphans who lack basic needs at the orphanage which is also giving shelter to the victims of the conflict specially the children. A wide range of necessities including food items, medical items, clothing, sanitary pads, toiletry items & other vital commodities were procured & distributed in the orphanage.
The initiative aimed to ensure that the basic needs of the children were met regardless of their ethnic & religious backgrounds. The Assam Rifles relief team worked diligently to ensure a seamless and equitable distribution process reaching out to the affected children & also provided much needed emotional support to the children. The people appreciated the efforts & cordial relations of Assam Rifles in maintaining a peaceful environment.
