ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES A FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCH BETWEEN PASTORS AND TROOPS TO STRENGTHEN UNITY AND TIES IN KAMJONG DISTRICT IN MANIPUR
In its ongoing effort to nurture harmony and build stronger bonds with local communities, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) organized a friendly Volleyball match with Church Pastors from all Tangkhul villages at Chassad, District Kamjong (Manipur) on 28 August 2024.
The event saw eager participation from pastors representing 35 border villages. From the onset it was clear that both teams were evenly matched. The rallies were exciting, with great spikes, serves, and digs. The volleys were competitive, but the players stayed positive and supported each other, no matter who scored. As the game continued, their skills and teamwork improved, making the match even more exciting. In the end, the Pastors’ team won 3-2 after several close calls that kept everyone engaged.
Following the match, a prize distribution ceremony was held to recognize the efforts and sportsmanship of all participants.
The Church Pastors and Volleyball participants from the Tangkhul Naga community expressed their deep appreciation for the Assam Rifles’ continuous efforts to maintain peace and stability in this remote and challenging border area.
On 28 August 2024, Assam Rifles distributed a study material and stationery distribution to students of Primary School, B Bongjang village, Moreh. The initiative was aimed to support the educational needs of the local children.
A total of 76 students benefitted from distribution of stationery material, including notebooks and writing material.
