SALUTING VALOUR: SON FOLLOWS FATHER’S FOOTSTEP IN ASSAM RIFLES, PAYS TRIBUTE AT NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL IN DELHI

A solemn and dignified wreath laying ceremony was held at the National War Memorial in Delhi to pay heartfelt tributes to Lance Naik Vikram Singh, a valiant Assam Rifles soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

On 18 August 1994, Lance Naik Vikram Singh and team embarked on a perilous mission in the treacherous terrain of Sangkhomei-Willong. As they approached Yangkhonou, they came under intense fire from a group of insurgents. Undaunted, Lance Naik Vikram Singh displayed unwavering courage, swiftly moving across the danger zone to engage the enemy.

Despite succumbing to gunshot wounds, his unrelenting spirit and sacrifice have left an indelible mark on the nation.

Rfn/GD Arun Singh Negi son of the martyr, currently serving in the same unit as his father, his wife, and two sons, along with the mother (wife of the martyr), were present at the solemn wreath laying ceremony, where they were honoured for their son’s extraordinary valor.

The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by brave personnel like Lance Naik Vikram Singh, who have laid down their lives to protect the nation.

ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATED TEACHER’S DAY
On 05 September 2024, Assam Rifles celebrated Teacher’s Day with great enthusiasm at St George High School, S Moljol Junior High School, and Dr Calvin Academy, Khoibu Primary School, Khoibu village and Machi High School, Machi village, Tegnoupal district.
The event featured a series of engaging cultural performances by the students, expressing their appreciation for their teacher’s guidance and support.
As part of the celebration, motivational speeches were delivered by the representatives of Assam Rifles encouraged students to aim high and emphasized the crucial role played by the teachers in shaping their future.
As a token of gratitude, teachers were presented with gifts in recognition of their dedication to education. Additionally, Assam Rifles distributed study materials to the students, underscoring Assam Rifles ongoing commitment to educational development.
The celebrations were attended by over 700 students and 100 teachers.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES TIMELY MEDICAL AID TO SNAKE BITE VICTIM IN KHUMBONG, IMPHAL WEST, MANIPUR

On 04 September 2024, Assam Rifles Unit Hospital located in Keithalmanbi Garrison responded swiftly to a medical emergency, providing crucial support to H. Amarjit Singh, a 40-year-old farmer. The farmer got bitten by a snake in the evening hours in a paddy field in Khumbong, Imphal West, Manipur and was rushed to the Assam Rifles Unit Hospital by concerned villagers.

Upon arrival, the medical team at the garrison immediately administered symptomatic treatment to stabilize the patient. After receiving the necessary medical care, H. Amarjit Singh’s condition improved significantly. He was closely monitored, and after ensuring his condition was stable and normal, he was discharged from the hospital.

The prompt response not only provided the necessary medical care but also ensured the safety and quick recovery of the farmer. The Assam Rifles continue to stand as a pillar of support for the people of Manipur with their unwavering commitment to the well-being of the local community.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WREATH LAYING CEREMONY FOR BRAVEHEART AT MANTRIPUKHRI ON 05 SEPTEMBER 2024

Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (South) organised a wreath laying ceremony for Naib Subedar Late L B Thapa, Rifleman Late C B Darjee and Naik Late Chandra Bahadur Sarki of 4 Assam Rifles who gave supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. On 05 September 1970, a convoy protection party of 4 Assam Rifles consisting 01 Junior Commissioned Officer and 10 other ranks during convoy protection on the Mao-Tadubi road Imphal (Manipur), came under ambush laid by insurgents. During the fire fight Naib Subedar Late L B Thapa, Rifleman Late C B Darjee and Naik Late Chandra Bahadur Sarki sustained gunshot wounds and succumbed to their injuries, thereby laying down their life as supreme sacrifice for the nation.

Assam Rifles honoured the brave hearts by paying homage at War Memorial for their supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation disregarding personal safety.

The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying and a motivational speech was delivered to all ranks narrating the story of the brave heart in the service of nation.

Two Officers, three Junior Commissioned Officers and 42 Other Ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying wreath & according Guard of Honour.
