ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES WORLD FIRST AID DAY WITH EVENTS IN TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

On 11 September 2024, Assam Rifles celebrated World First Aid Day by conducting multiple awareness sessions across Tengnoupal District, focusing on critical first aid skills and the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. The events took place in Moreh and Khudengthabi, involving active participation from local villagers.

In Moreh, a lecture-cum-demonstration was organized to raise awareness about the importance of first aid in emergencies. The session, attended by approximately 25 civilians, provided essential knowledge on how to respond swiftly during accidents, injuries, or medical crises. Demonstrations on wound care, managing fractures, and other emergency procedures were carried out, empowering participants to provide immediate care when needed. This initiative highlighted Assam Rifles’ commitment to public health and safety, while fostering greater trust between the force and local communities.

At Khudengthabi, a similar awareness lecture was conducted focusing on both the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and basic first aid techniques. A live demonstration of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) was carried out, equipping villagers with practical lifesaving skills. In addition to the medical training, participants were informed about the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and guided on how to enroll in the initiative to access the healthcare benefits it provides. The event saw a strong turnout, with 75 villagers taking part.

These initiatives by Assam Rifles underscore their dedication to promoting healthcare awareness, improving emergency response capabilities, and ensuring the well-being of the local population.
