In an inspiring initiative that blends fitness, discipline, and empowerment, Assam Rifles has taken a bold step to guide the youth of Singhat village towards healthier and more productive lives. Through dedicated training programs in Boxing and Taekwondo, the force is transforming the aspirations of local youth into a reality, with a significant number already participating—65 in boxing, including 4 women and 61 men, and 72 in Taekwondo, with 15 women and 57 men honing their skills.
Beyond physical fitness, these programs are designed to instill values of teamwork, discipline, and mental toughness, essential for any individual’s growth. To keep the competitive spirit alive and ensure the highest training standards, friendly matches are organized, fostering camaraderie and a sense of achievement among the participants.
The initiative not only strengthens the bond between Assam Rifles and the local community but also acts as a platform for talent discovery, nurturing future athletes who may one day shine on larger stages. ASSAM RIFLES SUPPORTS STUDENTS ORIENTATION CUM SPORTS MEET
Assam Rifles extended support to Don Bosco School, Salem Veng, Churachandpur during their ‘Students Orientation Cum Sports Meet Programme’ from October 1-4, 2024. The event encompassed students from 10 schools across Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts. Assam Rifles provided assistance to include tentage, water supply, and sports equipment, ensuring the program’s success. The school authorities expressed heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for their invaluable support.
ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED CONCLAVE WITH ELDERLY PEOPLE OF UKHRUL AND KAMJONG DISTRICT TO STRENGTHEN TIES AND PROMOTE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS AT SHANGSHAK, MANIPUR
In a significant outreach initiative, Assam Rifles hosted a day long “Conclave with Community Elders” from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts to foster constructive dialogue, strengthen relationships, and promote mutual understanding.
The conclave aimed to address prevailing security concerns in the region, insightful brain storming session was carried out on Free Movement Regime and Border fencing of the Indo-Myanmar Border. The conclave also focused on local concerns, sharing information on initiatives by Assam Rifles and identifying areas for collaborative development. It also covered discussions on key issues such as Infrastructure development, Education and skill development, Health services, Sports and cultural initiatives. The event witnessed active participation of over ninety community elders, who shared their valuable insights and perspectives.
The Community elders appreciated Assam Rifles efforts in organizing the conclave and expressed their willingness to collaborate on regional development initiatives.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS ANTI-MOSQUITO FOGGING OPERATION IN SANGAIYUMPHAM VILLAGE, THOUBAL DISTRICT
On 05 October 2024, responding to a local request, Assam Rifles conducted an extensive anti-mosquito fogging operation in and around Sangaiyumpham Village, addressing the rise in dengue cases. With districts like Imphal East, West, Thoubal, and Bishnupur affected, the operation aimed to curb the spread of the disease. Key areas, including the Mosque and Main Office, were targeted.
Assisted by the MSDO team, Assam Rifles also educated villagers on dengue prevention, such as eliminating breeding sites and using insect repellents. The local community expressed their gratitude for this timely and impactful intervention.
