ASSAM RIFLES CONNECTS WITH THE POPULATION IN A SERIES OF EVENTS IN CHANDEL DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles organized a series of people centric events over a week, such as Medical Camps , Lectures on Women and child welfare , Cleanliness & sanitation Drive, Tree plantation drive and Skill Development Classes on Automobile and Electrical repairs at Khengjoi Sub-Division, Chandel District from 7 to 11 Oct 24. These initiatives aimed to address various social, economic, healthcare and environmental issues while promoting skill development and welfare within the local population.

The drive benefited approximately 550-600 people, with events such as medical camps providing essential healthcare services to underprivileged individuals. Medical check-ups, distribution of medicines, and healthcare advice were offered, significantly providing immediate relief for those with limited resources.

Additionally, a lecture on women and child welfare, focusing on issues such as healthcare, nutrition, education and rights was held to raise awareness about the importance of empowering women and safeguarding the well-being of children, inspiring the local community to adopt progressive practices. A cleanliness and sanitation drive was also conducted, aligning with the government’s Swachh Bharat Mission. This initiative not only promoted hygiene and sanitation but also involved the local population in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.

A tree plantation drive was another highlight, encouraging environmental awareness and promoting afforestation to combat climate change and enhance the region’s green cover.

In line with the National Skill India mission classes on Automobile and Electrical repairs were also conducted empowering local youth in vocational skills to improve their livelihood prospects. These classes are expected to have a lasting impact on the socio-economic development of the region. Through these efforts, Assam Rifles continues to play a pivotal role in the holistic development of Khengjoi Sub-Division, fostering a sense of community, well-being, and sustainability.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED FREE MEDICAL CAMP FOR THE LOCALS OF LILONG AND THOUBAL, IN THOUBAL DISTRICT, MANIPUR

In a dedicated effort to support the well-being of local communities, Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp for residents of Lilong and Thoubal, Manipur, on October 12, 2024. The event, aimed at providing essential healthcare services, witnessed the participation of 144 civilians and Ex-Servicemen (ESM).

The medical camp included two specialist doctors a gynecologist and a surgeon who offered consultations and treatments to attendees, addressing a range of medical concerns. Along with medical check-ups, the camp ensured all requisite administrative arrangements, followed by lunch, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Local leaders, village heads, and the influential Meira Paibis present at the venue expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for their unwavering commitment to the region. This initiative is part of Assam Rifles’ broader outreach, reinforcing the trust and bond between the Force and the communities they serve. The camp not only provided critical healthcare but also fostered a sense of unity and support among the local populace.

Assam Rifles continues to stand as a pillar of strength, ensuring the health and well-being of the people in remote and conflict-prone areas like Manipur.
