ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCHES IN, UKHRUL DISTRICT, MANIPUR

The Assam Rifles brought together the local populace by conducting friendly volleyball matches for the villagers of Shangshak Khullen, Shangshak khunou, Lungshang & Koso village in Ukhrul district of Manipur. The matches foster the spirit of sportsmanship among the local populace and thereby encouraging them to stay away from the scourge of Insurgency.
The civilians of Shangshak khullen, Shangshak khunou,Lungshang & Koso village actively participated in the friendly volleyball matches. A total of 45 civilians including the team members of the Shangshak village volleyball team and the village authorities turned up for the event. The Assam Rifles team won the final match by winning two sets out of three sets played. Assam Rifles officials interacted with the villagers after the match. The village team was also felicitated.
The village authorities and villagers expressed their heartfelt appreciation towards Assam Rifles for conducting such entertaining and relevant activity for them. They also promised to extend their wholehearted support and cooperation to the Security Forces.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS ONE WEEK COMPUTER COURSE FOR YOUTH IN MANIPUR

In a progressive move towards digital literacy and youth empowerment, Assam Rifles, recently conducted a one-week Basic Computer Course for local youth at Phundrei, Thoubal District. This initiative signifies more than just skill development; it’s a stride towards building a technologically empowered generation poised to contribute to the region’s socio-economic resilience and growth.

In an age where digital literacy is synonymous with economic literacy, the course seeks to equip the local youth with foundational skills, thus fostering a generation prepared to navigate and contribute to a digital world. Involving 36 young and enthusiastic participants, this program aimed to bridge gaps in access to education and open up a future where Manipur’s youth are proactive, employable, and economically self-sustaining.
Engaging local youth in constructive activities like these also nurtures a sense of peace and progress, encouraging them to channel their energy towards skills that drive both personal and regional growth.

The program’s success reflects a remarkable response from the community, and the enthusiasm of these young learners is a testament to the potential for meaningful, long-term impact. As Assam Rifles continues to invest in such initiatives, the seeds of development and empowerment are sown, guiding Manipur towards a future of skilled, capable, and community-driven leaders.

ASSAM RIFLES COMMEMORATES INFANTRY DAY IN  IMPHAL WEST, MANIPUR

The Assam Rifles organized an event to commemorate Infantry Day at the Vocational Guide School, Sangaithel, Imphal West District on 28 Oct 2024. The event witnessed the participation of over 200 students of school.

As part of the program, the Assam Rifles organized several activities aimed at inspiring and educating the youth. A motivational movie screening was held, offering students a glimpse into stories of courage, determination, and perseverance. Additionally, a lecture on career opportunities in the Armed Forces provided valuable insights into joining the military, sparking interest among students.

The event concluded with an informal interaction with Assam Rifles personnel, fostering a sense of camaraderie and motivation among the youth. This initiative by Assam Rifles reflects their dedication to empowering the next generation and promoting a positive, disciplined lifestyle.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED MEDICAL CAMP AT KANAN VILLAGE, IN MANIPUR

Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Kanan, Chandel District (Manipur). The primary objective of the camp was to extend medical checkup and provide treatment to the residents of Kanan village and neighbouring villages in the times of unrest in Manipur.

The camp offered a wide array of services including comprehensive checkup and distribution of essential medicines to the people in Kanan and nearby villages.
A total of 49 patients (14 Men, 20 Women & 15 Children) were diligently examined and treated ensuring comprehensive healthcare assistance for the locals. The medical camp played a crucial role in addressing the healthcare needs of underprivileged communities in remote areas. Awareness was given on Dengue, Malaria, Diarrhea & other seasonal ailments.

ASSAM RIFLES CELEBRATES FESTIVALS WITH POPULATION IN VALLEYS AND HILLS

Assam Rifles proudly celebrated the traditional Ningol Chakouba festival across various locations in Manipur, including Komlakhong, Nambol, Iringbam, and Waroiching in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts on 29 October 2024. This revered festival, which holds deep cultural and social significance in Manipur, commemorates the joyous reunion of married women with their parental families.
Approximately 250 women came forward at various locations in Imphal Valley and celebrated this auspicious festival with troops of Assam Rifles. Ningol Chakouba, celebrated annually, symbolizes familial unity and respect for traditions as married sisters and daughters return to their natal homes, often receiving blessings and gifts from family members. This festival has become a cherished time to reconnect with roots, rekindle familial bonds, and pass down cultural heritage to future generations.
In a gesture of solidarity, Assam Rifles troops distributed gifts to the women, locally addressed as “Ichei,” and sought their blessings, strengthening the bond between the security forces and local communities. This initiative demonstrates Assam Rifles’ commitment to fostering harmony and mutual respect with the people of Manipur, highlighting their dedication to upholding local traditions and ensuring lasting peace in the region.
The event concluded with an exchange of goodwill, reflecting Assam Rifles’ ongoing support for cultural heritage and unity among communities in Manipur.
Additionally, Assam Rifles commemorated a cultural landmark by hosting the 24th Channa Pre-Chavang Kut at Molcham Village, Chandel district on 28 Oct. This two-day festival brought together the people to honour and celebrate its rich heritage through an array of traditional performances and activities. The event aimed to preserve culture while fostering a strong sense of community.
The festivities were marked by enchanting traditional dances, stirring folk songs, and inspirational speeches from prominent guests who highlighted the importance of cultural pride and unity. Alongside the cultural showcases, spirited sports competitions added excitement to the event, featuring a Men’s Football Championship, Men’s Volleyball Championship, and Women’s Volleyball Championship. These games celebrated athletic talent and team spirit, captivating the audience throughout.
