The Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 with a series of events centered on this year’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.” Commencing from, 28 October, the observance will continue until 03 November at the BSF South Bengal Headquarters Campus, with additional activities extending to BSF’s Composite Hospital, Sector Headquarters, and Battalion levels.
The observance began with a Pledge Taking Ceremony, where BSF personnel reaffirmed their commitment to honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct across all levels. This ceremony, held at multiple BSF establishments, underscored the BSF’s dedication to fostering integrity within the organization and setting a standard for all.
As part of the week-long observance, BSF is engaging with youth by organizing a series of competitions, including debates, elocution, essay writing, and cartoon/poster-making. Today, on October 29, 2024, similar programs were held at Shri Chaitanya Techno School in New Town, Kolkata. A BSF documentary was also screened, providing students with insight into the organization’s role and the values it upholds. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners, recognizing their enthusiasm and commitment to these values. Additionally, SBI officials briefed jawans on financial vigilance and awareness in the conference hall of frontier headquarters, Rajarhat, Kolkata.
To further enhance public awareness of vigilance and good governance, BSF has placed banners, hoardings, and posters at prominent locations throughout the city. Pamphlets are being distributed at key public interaction points, spreading messages of transparency, accountability, and integrity. Through these initiatives, BSF South Bengal Frontier aims to inspire a stronger culture of integrity and vigilance, contributing to a prosperous and ethical society.
