ASSAM RIFLES ORGANIZES MEDICAL CAMP IN CHANDEL DISTRICT

Aimed at essential healthcare services in remote areas such as New Songjang in Chandel District which faces challenges due to poor connectivity and limited access to medical facilities, Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp.

The camp offered medical consultations, check-ups, treatments, and the distribution of essential medicines. A total of 315 patients from New Songjang and surrounding villages benefited from the services provided. The initiative included free screenings for common illnesses, maternal and child health consultations, and specialized referrals for cases requiring advanced care.

The dedicated team of medical professionals ensured that each patient received personalized attention and care. In addition to medical services, health awareness talks on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive measures were conducted to promote long-term community well-being.

In response to urgent requests from local villagers in Kanglatongbi, Imphal West District, the Assam Rifles initiated extensive fogging operations to address a concerning rise in vector-borne diseases, particularly dengue and malaria. The operations commenced on November 21, 2024, following a significant outbreak that has raised public health alarms in the region.
