Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG) of Eastern Command, Kolkata, accompanied by the Inspector General (IG) of South Bengal Frontier, conducted a significant visit to the Behrampur Sector under the South Bengal Frontier. The visit was aimed at inspecting key Border Outposts and evaluating the operational effectiveness of the Border Security Force (BSF) in safeguarding the India-Bangladesh border.
The visit commenced with an inspection of the newly constructed Patrol Base at Rajanagar Forward, under the jurisdiction of the 73rd Battalion. The company commander briefed ADG Shri Gandhi on the strategic importance of this newly established base, highlighting its role in dominating the border area and curbing cross-border crimes.
The ADG then proceeded to Border Outpost Charmirashi, where the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the concerned sector and the Commandant of the 73rd Battalion provided a comprehensive briefing on their areas of responsibility. The officials discussed various operational challenges and strategies for ensuring the security of the region.
Further, ADG Gandhi visited Border Outpost Charkutibari and received a detailed briefing from the Company Commander regarding the prevailing patterns of trans-border crime. The focus was on how the BSF is working tirelessly to combat smuggling and other illegal activities along the border, with a focus on ensuring peace and security in the area.
The next stop was at Border Outpost Harudanga, where Gandhi interacted with the jawans and officers during a Sainik Sammelan. During this interaction, he emphasized the new challenges posed by border security and praised the dedication and commitment of the BSF personnel.
Finally, Gandhi visited Border Outpost Jalangi, where he inspected the night domination plan and engaged with the jawans performing night duties. The ADG appreciated the meticulous planning and readiness of the troops to maintain vigilance around the clock.
Gandhi, ADG highlighted importance of strengthening border security and maintaining the highest standards of operational preparedness in the face of evolving challenges. He expressed confidence in the commitment of the BSF personnel and their unwavering dedication to national security.
