Saluting Dedication and Valor: 33 BSF Personnel Honours with Police Medals for Meritorious Service

The Border Security Force (BSF) organized an Investiture Ceremony at the IIT Kharagpur Research Park, New Town, Kolkata, where 33 BSF personnel were honored with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS) in recognition of their exemplary and dedicated service.

The prestigious event was graced by the Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, as the Chief Guest, along with the presence of Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General, BSF Eastern Command and Maninder Pratap Singh Pawar, IPS, Inspector General, BSF South Bengal Frontier.

During the ceremony, the Governor awarded the Police Medals to 20 serving and 13 retired BSF personnel for their outstanding contributions.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from BSF officers, personnel, their families, as well as retired BSF members and their loved ones.

The Police Medal for Meritorious Service is a prestigious honor awarded to police forces and members of central police/security organizations who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, integrity, and outstanding service in the line of duty. This honor is confer only after an exhaustive and meticulous evaluation process conducted by a distinguished high-level committee.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose lauded the strategic expertise, advancements in infrastructure, weaponry, and training initiatives of the force. He acknowledged the significant role of BSF personnel in securing the nation’s borders, thwarting anti-national threats, and their remarkable achievements in safeguarding the country. The Chief Guest highly commended the medal awardees for their unwavering commitment, tireless service, and exemplary dedication to the nation.

The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from the medal recipients, their proud families, BSF officers, subordinate officers, other ranks and retired personnel in large numbers. This event was not only a celebration of the achievements of BSF personnel but also a reflection of the force’s unwavering commitment to the nation, its established high standards, and steadfast dedication.
