In a recent meeting at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha engaged in discussions with Union Minister of Railways and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, focusing on the advancement of the state’s railway infrastructure and IT sector.

The dialogue encompassed several key projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth in Tripura. Among the primary topics were the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express and an inter-city train service between Agartala and Guwahati, which are expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve regional connectivity.

A notable point of discussion was the proposal for a new railway line between Dharmanagar and Kailashahar. This project aims to provide direct rail connectivity to previously underserved regions, facilitating easier movement of people and goods, and thereby stimulating local economies.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the development of a local train service connecting Dharmanagar and Sabroom, the construction of new tracks between Jirania and Bodhjungnagar (Industrial Estate), and the introduction of a Kisan Rail service between Agartala and Guwahati to support agricultural logistics.

Discussions also extended to IT-related issues, with both leaders exploring avenues to bolster Tripura’s digital infrastructure, aiming to transform the state into a hub for technology and innovation.

This meeting underscores the commitment of both the state and central governments to collaborate on projects that drive Tripura’s development and prosperity.
