Online Fraud in the Name of West Bengal Governor: Raj Bhavan, Kolkata Issues Cautionary Warning

The West Bengal Governor’s office has issued a stern warning regarding online fraudsters who are attempting to extort money by creating fake accounts on social media in the name of Governor Dr. CV Ananda Bose.

Several complaints have been filed by individuals who claim to have been approached with fraudulent offers.

A spokesperson from Raj Bhavan informed the public that these scams should not be entertained under any circumstances. “Anyone who is approached in such a manner should report the incident to the police immediately,” the spokesperson urged.

It has been reported that fraudsters are contacting individuals, both through phone calls and in person, under the guise of offering fake deals or opportunities related to the Bengal Governor. Although initial complaints had decreased after law enforcement was alerted, recent reports indicate that such activities have resurfaced.

Raj Bhavan has once again reminded the public, especially those connected to the Governor’s office and family, to remain vigilant and exercise caution in order to avoid falling victim to these fraudulent schemes.
