RPF, EASTERN RAILWAY RESCUES 957 MINORS UNDER “OPERATION NANHEY FARISTEY”

Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Eastern Railway continues to play a pivotal role in safeguarding vulnerable children at railway premises through its ongoing initiative, “Operation Nanhey Faristey.” The operation reflects RPF’s unwavering commitment to the protection and rehabilitation of minors who are found in distress across railway stations.

During the period from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025, RPF personnel under Eastern Railway successfully rescued a total of 957 minors, which includes 584 boys and 373 girls, from various railway stations falling under its jurisdiction.

These minors were found either separated from their families, lost, abandoned, or in situations that posed a risk to their safety and well-being. Upon rescue, all children were promptly handed over to Childline India Foundation and other child welfare NGOs in coordination with Government authorities, ensuring their safe custody and necessary rehabilitation measures.

“Operation Nanhey Faristey” is not just a campaign; it is a life-saving mission that continues to reunite children with their families and restore their right to a safe and secure childhood.

This rescue operation not only highlights the alertness and humanitarian approach of RPF personnel but also underlines their proactive coordination with civil society organizations and concerned authorities.
