A Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) was successfully conducted at Central Hospital, Maligaon on 9th April, 2025. The training was organised jointly by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) and the National Neonatology Forum (NNF) as part of the First Golden Minute Project an initiative aimed at improving newborn survival through timely and skilled resuscitation practices.

The primary objective of the program was to equip healthcare professionals with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to provide effective neonatal resuscitation, especially during the critical first minute after birth.

The training sought to significantly reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality by ensuring readiness to respond swiftly in life threatening situations. Further emphasizing its focus on paediatric services, the hospital has introduced specialized departments in paediatrics along with other fields, reducing the need for patients to seek care outside the region.

A total of 16 participants took part in the training, which included comprehensive hands-on sessions and simulation-based learning modules. Through this focused approach, the program enhanced the confidence and competence of the medical staff in managing neonatal emergencies. This initiative reflects NFR’s continued commitment towards improving healthcare outcomes and advancing the quality of medical services provided under its network.

The inauguration of new AYUSH and RELHS clinics on January, 2024, along with expanded dormitory facilities for patient bystanders, reflects a holistic approach to patient care. These developments, coupled with the adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in line with the Digital India Initiative, streamline patient management and enhance service delivery. NFR’s proactive community outreach also includes health camps and awareness programs, further affirming its role as one of the leaders in regional healthcare advancement.
