In a series of operations, Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based week long operations in the hill and valley districts namely Kangpokpi, Senapati, Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP. The operations resulted in apprehension of 13 cadres from the hill and valley-based groups and recovery of 23 weapons, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
In Imphal West district, an intelligence-based operation in general area Phayeng resulted in recovery of five weapons comprising one 7.62 mm SLR, one .303 rifle, three 9 mm pistols, ammunition and war like stores.
Acting on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of arms and warlike stores in the area Pholjang – Tingkhai village track, Kangpokpi district, Manipur, the Assam Rifles, in coordination with Manipur Police, launched a search operation.The joint operation resulted in recovery 14 weapons comprising one Self Loading Rifle (SLR), one Double Barrel Breach Loading shot gun, two Bolt action Rifles, five Improvised Mortars, four Pull Mechanism Rifles, ammunition and war like stores.
In Senapati district, Assam Rifles launched a search operation on general area Marenmai and recovered four weapons comprising three Bolt Action Single Barrel Rifles and one improvised mortar (Pompi).
Intelligence based operations in hill and valley regions also resulted in apprehension of cadres. The apprehended cadres and the recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.
These coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
