Two-day Photo exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 8 Years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan’ begins at Sipajhar

The two-day Photo exhibition cum outreach programme organised by Central Bureau of Communication(CBC), Regional office, Guwahati begins today at Bordoulguri High School, Sipajhar, Darrang. The theme of the exhibition is Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 8 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan.

Inaugurating the exhibition Rajani Kanta Nath, ex-Principal, Sipajhar Higher Secondary School said that this country is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to pay tribute to the martyrs and to aware the masses about their contribution. Talking about the sacrifices of the freedom fighters Nath Said that the stories of these fighters always inspire the upcoming generation. He appreciated the efforts of the Central Bureau of Communication and said that this exhibition will help the students to know more about the freedom fighters of this country.

Speaking on the occasion as the guest of honour Dharanidhar Nath, ex-President, Bordoulguri Sahitya Sabha  recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of the Nation. He  urged everyone to remember and follow the ideals of the freedom fighters. He also urged the people to take the benefit of the exhibition. Nath also spoke about the initiatives of government and said that the schemes and policies of this government is helping the poor to get the benefits.

Barnali Mahanta, Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Guwahati spoke about the aim and significance of the programme in her welcome address.

Nageswar Saharia, ex-president, Bordoulguri Sahitya Sabha,  Shri Jagat Chandra Barua, President, Bordoulguri Sahitya Sabha and other dignitaries were also present in the occasion.

The two-day exhibition will showcase photo panels on many unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle as well as freedom fighters of the North-east. This Exhibition portrays the freedom struggle and the brave fighters who contributed in making India independent sacrificing their lives. The exhibition also showcases initiatives and schemes of government in the last 8 years.

Various competitions including art and quiz  among students were also held in today’s programme.  Stalls of handicrafts by Self Help Groups were also put up in the exhibition.

The Private Registered troupe under CBC, Guwahati and local artists performed cultural programme on the theme of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
