Prof Rajive Mohan Pant has been appointed a new Vice-Chancellor Assam University Silchar for five years.
Ministry of Education Department Higher Education issued a notice on 14 January.
Earlier Prof Pant was worked at Northeastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Nirjuli Arunachal Pradesh.
Prof Panth was an M.A in Economics from Kamuan University of Nainital and started his academic career as a professional teacher in 1986.
