Flying Officer Sudarshan Pradhan, born and raised in Darjeeling, dreamt of becoming an Automobile Engineer and help the underprivileged in his society. He was excelled through hard work and participated in martial arts, sports and co-curricular activities. Though his initial goal was engineering, inspired by his grandfather’s dream and a deep respect for the Armed Forces, he felt a sense of pride every time he saw the national flag or uniformed personnel.
He chose to study B. Tech in Bangalore over other options, funding his education through a study loan. Joining NCC during college changed his perspective and fueled his ambition to join the defence forces. Despite multiple setbacks in clearing the SSB, he never lost motivation. One year passed, and to support his family and repay his loan, he began working in an Automobile Service center in Sikkim, managing on a modest income.
Eventually, his determination paid-off when he was recommended for both OTA and AFA. He joined OTA initially, later transitioning to the Air Force Academy, choosing to pursue a career in the lAF, fulfilling his dream.
