BSF APPREHENDED A BANGLADESHI WOMAN ON BORDER WHO WAS INVOLVED IN PROSTITUTION, THE WOMAN NARRATED HER ORDEAL

On 31st January, 2022 under South Bengal Frontier, troops of Border Out Post Tarali, 112 Battalion apprehended a Bangladeshi woman who was coming from Bangladesh to India from the area of ​​North 24 Parganas district from their area of ​​responsibility.

On 31st January, 2022 at about 2300 hrs, based on reliable information, the troops of Border Out Post Tarali, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, while on duty noticed a woman crossing the border illegally who was trying to come to India from Bangladesh. At the same time, the Border Security Force troops apprehended her.

The apprehended woman has been identified as Ruksana Begum (fictitious name), age 32 years, District Barisal, Bangladesh.

During preliminary interrogation, the woman revealed that in 2006 she married with Md. Islam. She gave birth to a baby girl in 2011 but due to domestic problems, she divorced her husband in 2013. She further revealed that in 2017 she had come to India illegally in search of work. After coming to India, she reached to Teen Batti, Daman, Gujarat and started sewing clothes there and living there in a rented house (Sajanand Apartment). She revealed that one of her friends asked her to do prostitution work to earn more money and in the greed of money she agreed to do this work. After this she worked as a call girl at different places of Daman. During this she went to Bangladesh several times. The woman revealed that 6 months ago she had gone to Bangladesh with the help of an Indian tout to meet her family, for which she had given Rs 19,000 to the tout. She revealed that on 31st January, 2022 she was crossing the border illegally with the help of a Bangladeshi tout to come to India from Bangladesh but troops on duty apprehended her.

The apprehended woman has been handed over to PS Swarupnagar for further legal action.

The Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier has expressed happiness over the achievement of freeing a Bangladeshi woman from human traffickers by his jawans. He further stated that this is the result of the vigilance and meticulous duty of our jawans. He further stated that South Bengal Frontier, BSF has deployed Anti Human Trafficking Unit in the border areas to watch human trafficking.
