On 2nd February 2022 under South Bengal Frontier, troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion apprehended 06 Bangladeshi nationals while illegally crossing the border from the area of North 24 Parganas district.
In the first incident, on 2nd February, 2022 at about 1220 hrs, based on reliable information, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, while on duty, apprehended a Bangladeshi national who was illegally crossing the border from India to Bangladesh. The apprehended person has been identified as Mohammad Zillur Rahman, age 32 years, S/o Fazr Ali, village Adhdanga, PS Salikha, District Magura, Bangladesh.
During preliminary interrogation, the apprehended person revealed that he is a Bangladesh national and came to India by illegally crossing the border in 2012. After coming in India he started living at the house of Kamarul, village Pandua, PS Pandua, District Hooghly, West Bengal. The person further revealed that in 2014 he got fake documents and Indian passport after that he went to Kuwait from India in 2017. The person also revealed that on 10th January, 2022 he came to India and stayed at Kamarul’s house. He further revealed that today he was trying to go to Bangladesh with the help of a Bangladeshi tout Milan and an unknown Indian female tout to meet his sick father. For this work he had given 15,000 rupees to the said touts. But the Border Security Force troops apprehended him on the spot.
Apart from this, in another incident, troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion apprehended 5 Bangladeshi nationals who were trying to cross the border illegally to India from Bangladesh. They were identified as 1. Nayan Gayan, age 30 years, S/o Late Sukhranjan Gayan, 2. Anjali Gayan (M/o Nayan Gayan) age 60 years, 3. Shamuli Gayan (W/o Nain Labh), age 25 years, 4. Nabadeep Gayan (Boy of Nayan Gayan), age 5 years, 5. Ratul Gayan (Boy of Nayan Gayan), age 4 years, village Kaigram, PS Indarkani, District Pirojpur, Bangladesh.
During preliminary interrogation, Nayan Gayan revealed that his sister Shamuli Byapari along with husband Bimal Byapari and their two children had illegally crossed the border to India in 2002. All of them started living in NKDA Market, New Town, Kolkata and started working there. The person further revealed that during this time he went to Bangladesh several times. Further he revealed that he came to India from ICP Petrapole in 2018 through passport. He returned after a month stay with his sister. He further revealed that there are about 20 Bangladeshi nationals living where his sister lives. Today he along with the whole family were trying to come to India with the help of a Bangladeshi tout Kamal but werer apprehended by the Border Security Force. For this work, he had given 36,000 rupees to the tout.
All the apprehended persons have been handed over to PS Swarupnagar police for further legal action.
The Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier has expressed happiness over the achievement of the 112 Battalion troops resulting in the apprehend of 06 Bangladeshi nationals by the jawans. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his jawans on duty.
