OPENING CEREMONY – 03 APRIL 2022
Celebrating 75 Glorious Years of Indian Independence, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling in collaboration with RUSH MEDIA is organizing The RUSH Fest from 03 – 07 April 2022 under the banner AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV at HMI, Darjeeling. A Grand Opening Ceremony was organized today at HMI amphitheater which was attended by Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, PVSM, AVSM,VM, ADC, former Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force as Chief Guest along with his wife Mrs. Lily Raha.
The programme began by lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and other guests giving a traditional fervour to the opening ceremony. There was a brief welcome address from HMI which was followed by technical briefing about the event by RUSH Media. Thereafter, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering in which he lauded the effort put in by HMI and RUSH Media to popularize such events which would promote FIT INDIA MOVEMENT. Thereafter the Chief Guest declared the event OPEN.
For the first time in the country that such an event is being organized to promote FIT INDIA MOVEMENT and Adventure Tourism in Darjeeling wherein youth from pan India and overseas countries viz. Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Nepal are participating. International Judges from France, USA, Spain, Switzerland, & Germany have come to judge the event. The events are being organized at two venues viz. Calisthenics World Cup at HMI amphitheater and Slackline Championship at Jamuni.
It is the first time that Calisthenics World Cup (in India) & Indian Slackline Championship is being organized in the country.
Volunteers of Isha Foundation are also promoting Save Soil under ‘Earth Buddy’ Campaign on the sidelines of the event.
