The Joint Action Committee of Recognised Unions (JACRU) of Nagaon and Cachar paper mills in Assam on Monday urged newly elected CM of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to take immediate measures to revive the two paper mills Jagiroad and Panchgram of Assam.
In a statement, the committee expressed confidence on the newly elected CM of Assam of Himanta Biswa Sarma in regard to the revival of the two mills of Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited and desired fulfillment of renewed.
The two paper mills of Assam Panchgram in Hailakandi district and Jagiroad paper mill in Nagaon district were closed in 2015 and 2017.
Already 85 workers have died during the previous tenure of NDA government in Assam,” the statement issued by JACRU president Manobendra Chakraborty and Ananda Bordoloi, JACRU general secretary, said.
