Union Power, New and Renewable Energy Minister Raj Kumar Singh in presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Sarma and other power ministers of North East held a review meeting on revamped distribution sector scheme here today.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma said that Centre’s Saubhagya scheme which has the mandate of achieving electrification of all un-electrified households in the country has brought about paradigm shift in illuminating the country. He also said that State government has taken several steps in achieving 100 per cent village electrification.
Moreover, he himself took keen interests in visiting APDCL installations to revamp distribution mechanism in the state. He said that the financial health of the company has also improved considerably as the efforts are on to make APDCL a model institution in power distribution mechanism.
While sharing his observation in the meeting, Power Minister RK Singh said besides generation, Centre has put considerable weightage in revamping distribution with latest technologies.
Power Minister Bimal Bora, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha and other senior officers of the government were present during the meeting.
