On 30th January, 2022, Border Security Force apprehended two Bangladeshi women into Indian territory in two separate incidents in the border area of North 24 Parganas district.
In the first incident, on 30th January, 2022 at around 1115 hrs, under South Bengal Frontier, alert troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur, Adhoc VIIth Battalion, apprehended a woman suspiciously walking near the International Border.
The apprehended woman has been identified as Nasrima (Fictitious name), age 20 years, District Jessore, Bangladesh. During interrogation, the she revealed that her cousin, whose name is Juvel Qazi, lives near Bangaon railway station. She had come to India to meet him. She further revealed that today she was going back to Bangladesh.
In the another incident, on 30th January, 2022, the alert troops of the Border Out Post Madhupur, Adhoc VIIth Battalion apprehended a woman while entering in the Indian boundary.
The apprehended woman has been identified as Sultana Begam (Fictitious name), District Jessore, Bangladesh. During interrogation, Sultana Begam revealed that she was coming to India for labor work and Bangladeshi tout Abul Hussain has helped her to cross the border.
Seeing the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended women, the Border Security Force handed over to the BGB on humanitarian grounds.
Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. In view of the seriousness of the crimes committed by Bangladeshi nationals, the Border Security Force hands over the people to the BGB as a gesture of mutual cooperation and goodwill.
