On March 09, 2022 around 2140 hrs, under South Bengal Frontier, Border Out Post MS Pur, vigilant troops of 70 Battalion, Sector Malda seized 73 mobile phones worth approx Rs.7,87,000.
On March 09, 2022, on the basis of specific inputs, the Border Out Post MS Pur, 70 Battalion BSF Party deployed ambush in the general area of village Milik Sultan Pur, then Ambush Party noticed the movement of some persons from the Indian side. The smugglers were moving towards the International Boundary. Ambush Party challenged the smugglers. But the smugglers fled on seeing the BSF jawans. When the jawans searched the area thoroughly, a bag was recovered from which 73 mobile phones were recovered.
The seized items have been handed over to the Police Station Kaliachak for further legal action.
The Public Relations Officer has expressed happiness over the achievements of the troops of the 70 Battalion in which 73 mobile phones worth Rs 7.87 lakh have been seized and smuggling has been banned. He stated that this has been possible only because of the vigilance of the jawans on duty.
