The counting to the Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections is ongoing in the Northeastern state. This is amid strict security and COVID-19 protocols.
As per trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is emerging as the single largest party. Poor show by Indian National Congress (INC) so far, with major gains for the National People’s Party (NPP).
The elections in Manipur are considered crucial as the campaigning has been strong over the weeks. Multiple leaders had shifted parties ahead of the polls. Leaders were seen holding rallies and road shows during the campaign for the polls.
“Proper security measures undertaken including imposition of Sec 144 CrPC around the counting centres to ensure that peace and tranquillity is not disturbed and counting of votes is conducted smoothly.”, reads a tweet by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur, yesterday evening.
“Offered my prayers at Shri Shri Govindaji Temple along with Shri Sambit Patra Ji to seek the blessings of Lord Govindaji for the grand result that awaits us today.”, reads a tweet by CM Nongthombam Biren Singh, today morning.
Later he talks with Media person CM N Biren Singh fully confidence that BJP will gets full majority in Assembly. He also adds, “Let us march towards a peaceful, prosperous and developed Manipur, together with BJP.”
