On March 27, 2022, at around 0330 hrs, personnel of Border Out Post DMC, 35 Battalion, while taking action, apprehended an Indian smuggler. This smuggler was trying to smuggle Phensedyl from India to Bangladesh from the area of ​​the Border Out Post DMC. The jawans on duty of Border Out Post DMC suspected some suspicious activity in their area of ​​responsibility. Taking immediate action, the troops surrounded the smuggler by laying an ambush and apprehended him. After a thorough search of the area, 49 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered from the smuggler whose estimated cost is Rs.9145.85/-.
On interrogation, the apprehended smuggler identified himself as Jahangir Alam, S/o– Altab Hussain, village – Manikchak, PS – Lalgola, district – Murshidabad. The apprehended smuggler revealed that he had taken the bottles of Phensedyl from Asadul Haque, S/o- Sattar Shaikh, Village- Kaharpara, Thana-Lalgola, Post-Manikchak, District-Murshidabad and Saumitra Mandal, S/o Asit Mandal village BM Para, Post- Manikchak, Police Station- Lalgola district Murshidabad . After crossing the BSF duty line, he was about to hand over these things of Phensedyl to Alameen Shaikh, S/o- Khaliur Rehman, Village- Tekpara, Post- Char Asirdah, Thana- Godagri, District- Rajshahi (Bangladesh).
Apprehended smugglers and seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to Lalgola Police Station for further legal action.
