BANGLADESHI CITIZEN INADVERTENTLY CROSSED THE INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARY, BSF HANDED OVER TO BGB ON HUMANITARIAN GROUNDS

On March 28, 2022, at 1015 hrs under the South Bengal Frontier, alert troops of the Border Out Post Tilasan, 44 battalion apprehended a person in suspicious movements while crossing the International Boundary and entering the Indian border. The apprehended Bangladeshi national identified as Mohammad Mukdesh (Age 65 years), S/o- Late Riazmul, Village- Shyampur, Post- Bangabari, Police Station- Gumstapur, District- Chapai Nawabganj, Bangladesh.

During interrogation of the apprehended Bangladeshi national, it was found that the Bangladeshi national had inadvertantly entered India by violating the International Boundary. Therefore, that person has been handed over to the BGB on humanitarian grounds due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries.

Shri H S Bedi, Commanding Officer, 44 Battalion stated that our jawans are keeping a close watch on illegal infiltration along the International Boundary as well as people crossing the border in any way. He added that the apprehended Bangladeshi national had no prior criminal history or any record of crossing the border illegally, hence they were handed back to BGB, Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds.
