Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati hosts High Tea for Riders of North East on Wheels

The Saza – Serow team of the riders from the  “North East on Wheels” expedition – a nine day motorbike expedition organised by Amazing Namaste Foundation  to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav arrived in Aizawl from Tripura this afternoon. Upon their arrival, they were hosted High Tea at the Raj Bhavan by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati.  On the way to Aizawl, the riders were piloted by Tourism Minister Pu Robert Romawia Royte, also driving a motorbike from the highway near Lengpui Airport.

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati welcomed the riders from different parts of India to Mizoram and thanked their participation in this ride to experience the place, the people, the cuisines and the culture of this unique part in India. He also thanked the Government of India for organising this unique expedition and  appropriate exercise for promotion of national integration. He shared his personal experience of arriving in Mizoram with his visitors and wished them to enjoy their time in Mizoram to have happy memories when they go back to their places. He also said that Mizoram with all its charm and beauty complemented by its friendly local people always welcome people from outside the state with open arms.  

 

Pu Robert Romawia Royte, Minister of State, Tourism, who led the the Saza – Serow team of the riders from the “North East on Wheels” on their way to Aizawl also shared a  few words at the reception. He welcomed team members to interact as much as they can with the locals during their stay in Mizoram and hope that they find the uniqueness of the place to make them visit the state again.

At the reception in the Raj Bhavan, Shri Atul Kulkarni, Chairman, Amazing Namaste Foundation chaired the programme and also gave a keynote address.

Later in the evening, the riders were entertained with the Cultural Programme at Beraw Tourist Lodge at the outskirts of Aizawl where they will also be spending the night. They will be visiting Thenzawl Town, 75 KM away from Aizawl, on  the next day. On Friday, they will be proceeding back to Vairengte, Kolasib District, Northern part of Mizoram where they will be hosted by Counter Insurgency & Jungle Warfare  School  (CIJWS).
