Aam Aadmi Party Assam opens account in Gauhati Municipal Corporation Elections

The counting of votes for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) are being held in the state capital today, amid strict security measures. The voting was held day before yesterday, with approx. 54% turnout.

The Assam Unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has opened their account by winning Ward No. 42. The candidate was seen sharing smiles with party supporters after the results were declared this morning.

“The great start, Aam Aadmi Party opened account winning ward no. 42 of Guwahati Municipal corporation. Counting still going on.”, reads a tweet by senior AAP leader Rajesh Sharma today morning.

AJP also opens account in GMC Election. AJP won Word no 1.

Supporters of the party were seen sharing joy with fellow colleagues outside their party headquarters in Guwahati. Slogans in favour of party leaders were also heard.

It may be mentioned that, Aam Aadmi Party was formed out of the Anti-Corruption movement in India. The party is led by Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi. AAP has also won the elections in Punjab recently with Bhagwant Mann being the CM.
