Union Minister of State for Railways & Textiles Smt Darshana Jardosh, the visiting called on Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The Minister arrived today and will have an official programme at various places in the state till 27.05.2022(Friday).
At the outset of the courtesy meeting, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati welcomed his esteemed guest to Mizoram. During their interaction, he gave short briefings on the huge potential the state has in the handloom industry with the readily available skillful weavers everywhere within the state. He had urged the Minister to provide necessary assistance from her ministry to facilitate the growth and development of local textile industries in the state. The two also discuss the progress of railway line construction in Mizoram and also the huge prospect when the project is completed.
The Union Minister of State for Textiles also shared her high expectation for the state in getting the most out of its favourable potential in the textile sector, especially in handloom. She briefed the Governor on her itinerary during this visit which included interactive programs with the weavers at their places, inauguration of the Samarth Training Programme at Thenzawl, visit of Chawilung village, a review meeting at Sericulture Training Institute, Zemabawk, a visit to Apparel and Garment Making Unit, Luangmual and meeting the Chief Minister.
