BSF apprehended 02 Indian smugglers red handed with Phensedyl bottles on Border

On June 25, 2022, at around 1400 hrs, on the basis of specific information, the troops of Border Out Post Tarali, 112 Battalion laid an ambush in the specified area. During the ambush, the BSF troops saw a motor cycle as well as a toto rickshaw coming from Tarali village who were going towards Hakimpur village. The Border Security Force troops stopped them. The search of the Toto was started. When search of the motorcycle was started, the person on the motorcycle started running away, but the Quick Reaction team of the BSF chased and apprehended him.

Whereas during the search of toto Rickshaw, 105 Phensedyl bottles were found under its seat. At the same time, the driver of the Toto rickshaw and the person with the motorcycle were caught, who were doing this work together. The apprehended persons have been identified as 1) Jagir Hussain Ghazi, 17 years, S/o Ali Hussain Ghazi, Village Hakimpur, Thana Swaroopnagar, District North 24 Parganas 2) Abu Hussain Sardar, 30 years, S/o Ajgar Sardar, Village Nityanand Kathi, Thana Swaroopnagar, Distt. North 24 Parganas.

During preliminary interrogation, the persons revealed that they are Indian national and do petty smuggling work for their survival. They revealed that these Phensedyls was taken from the smuggler of Hakimpur village and after crossing the duty point of Border Security Force again were to be given back to the same person. Jagir Hussain Ghazi was driving Toto Rickshaw and Abu Hossein Sardar was leading him on the motorcycle. But as they were crossing the duty point of the Border Security Force, the Border Security Force personnel apprehended both of them.

The apprehended persons along with the seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to Customs Office Tentulia for further legal proceedings.

Narayan Chand, Commanding Officer, 112th Battalion expressed happiness over the achievement of the troops in thwarting smuggling attempts. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness displayed by his troops on duty. The officer clearly stated that nothing can hidden from the eyes of his troops. He also added that he also has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling.
