BSF AND BGB EXCHANGE OF CIVILIANS WHO WERE APPREHENDED ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

On July 29, 2022, the vigilant troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur of 68 Battalion, Border Security Force, acting on the basis of specific info, took a person into custody while crossing the International border illegally. Identified as Abdul Suban (59), District-Satkhira, Bangladesh. On interrogation, Abdul Suban revealed that his foot is being treated at the Orthopedic Handicapped Hospital in Hooghly. The apprehended person was handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh for the sake of humanity and goodwill.

BGB returns two Indian women to BSF
On the other hand, on 29 July, 2022 Border Guard Bangladesh handed over two Indian women (mother and daughter) to BSF who had gone to Bangladesh on the night of 28 April 2022 to meet their relatives. The woman and her daughter are residents of Kundopara village in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended persons and due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are handed over to each other.
